Howard Wortzman

Senior Vice President, Real Estate Investments

Mr. Wortzman has over 26 years of experience as a financial professional in public practice and industry. Howard joined Counsel in May of 1987 as V.P. Finance for Counsel's real estate operations, which included retail, office and industrial ownership positions, office and retail developments, property management activities, and the creation of a number of real estate fund and syndication opportunities. As a member of the real estate executive team, Howard worked closely with the leaders of all disciplines including acquisition, development and property management professionals. In 1993, Howard became V.P. Finance of Counsel Corporation, and directed all financial reporting, budgeting, cash management and tax planning and compliance activities. In this position, Howard gained invaluable experience in the areas of public reporting, tax, due diligence, initial and secondary public offerings, and managing organizational change. At the beginning of 2002, Howard took on the added responsibility overseeing the financial affairs for Counsel's re-entrance into the real estate industry.

Mr. Wortzman received an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in 1973 from the University of Toronto, an MBA in 1975 from York University and was admitted as a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1978.
