Past successes and core competencies in this sector facilitate its ability to identify and recognize opportunities and to structure attractive acquisition terms and financing. Counsel has a history of successfully acquiring, developing and managing commercial real estate properties, primarily retail shopping centres.

Counsel creates and realizes value as it pursues real estate acquisitions and syndications in Canada. As part of its strategy, Counsel will own and develop its own properties as well as provide third party real estate services in property and asset management. Counsel currently owns and/or manages 11 properties with approximately 1.4 million square feet of leasable area.

Counsel's goal in the real estate sector is to position itself as a Real Estate Fund Manager, while still allowing for the realization of development and redevelopment profit for our own account on an on-going basis.
